Services

Initial Consultation

The decision to start therapy is a very personal one, and it is important that you feel we can work together well.  I offer free 15 minute consultation services either on the telephone, through teleconference, or by e-mail.  This allows you to meet me, ask about my approach, and get a sense of whether you feel I can be of assistance to you

Initial Assessment

The initial assessment session is typically about 75 minutes in length. In this meeting, you will have the opportunity to share information and your hopes for therapy.  I aspire to get a good sense of what you struggle with, what your strengths are, and what you hope to get out of therapy.  This will allow us to establish a preliminary therapy plan. If, at any point, we determine that other services may be a better fit for you, I will help you obtain assistance from appropriate providers.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.   The number of sessions required will depend on the type of concerns you have and the level of change you desire. The number of sessions is flexible and we will work together to determine the therapy plan, modifying it as needed.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Trauma-focused therapy can look many different ways.  Historically, therapists focused primarily on talk therapy.  Encouraging developments in the field have led to incorporation of somatic (body-based) approaches that have revolutionized the treatment of conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  One of the approaches that I utilize to help people process difficult experiences is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).  Please contact me if you would like more information about my approach.

Group Therapy

Group therapy typically involves 4 -6 consecutive weekly sessions.  Current Groups include:

Pain Reprocessing Therapy

Mindfulness & Self-compassion

We often feel isolated when dealing with challenges, such as loss, transition, chronic pain, suffering.  In addition, we are living in a very distracted and distressed time in history, and critical self-talk can run amok.  Connecting with others can be a key healing component of effective therapy.  Please contact me directly for more information.
